VYPA FAQ: your digital signage questions, answered

The VYPA Player is live on the Samsung Smart TV app store, the Amazon Appstore for Fire TV, Google Play for Android and Google TV, Raspberry Pi 4 and 5, and the Web Player in a browser. Apps for LG, VIDAA (Hisense) and Roku are coming. The player setup guide covers each one.

No. Most businesses use the TV or streaming stick they already have. If you want a ready-made player, VYPA sells an Android Stick for CA$49.99 and an Android Box for CA$69.99. Both are listed on the pricing page.

Open the VYPA Player on the screen and it shows a pairing code. Sign in at app.vypa.co, go to Screens, choose Add New Screen, give it a name and type in the code. The code expires after 5 minutes, so restart the player if you need a new one. Content starts playing within about 30 seconds of being assigned.

The screen keeps playing. The player stores your content and plays it offline, then picks up your changes when it reconnects. A wired Ethernet connection is still the most reliable choice.

For HD content, plan on at least 5 Mbps. For 4K, allow 25 Mbps. If the screen sits behind a company firewall, ports 443 (HTTPS) and 8080 (WebSocket) must be open. The setup guide lists the full requirements.

Yes. The Android player detects the device and picks landscape or portrait on its own. On a Raspberry Pi, you choose the orientation when you scan the setup QR code with your phone. You can also set orientation in the player's display settings.

Nothing. VYPA Host is free to join. You need a screen at your venue, an internet connection and the VYPA Player. VYPA finds the advertisers and places their ads on your screen. Sign up as a host.

You earn 70% of net ad revenue after processing fees for the ads that play on your screens. What that comes to depends on how many slots advertisers book, so no amount is guaranteed. The host earnings example shows how the numbers add up slot by slot.

Payouts are made automatically every month, or on request. The minimum payout is CA$10 in Canada and ₦5,500 in Nigeria. A balance below the minimum is never lost; it rolls into the next month. Payout methods include Stripe, PayPal, Interac and Paystack, depending on your country.

Yes. Every screen runs a loop of twelve slots. Eight are advertising slots sold by VYPA, and four are yours for your own promotions, menu, opening hours or anything else you like.

A screen in a public space you control, and the right to show advertising there. You keep the screen on and online during your opening hours, and you do not cover or skip the ads. If a lease, landlord or local by-law applies, getting consent is your responsibility. Learn more about hosting.

Tell us. All advertising is subject to review. If you think a specific ad is wrong for your venue, we review it and, where appropriate, remove or replace it. Where the feature is available, you can also block categories of advertising.

It runs large-format boards on the same platform as the indoor network: estate gate boards, roadside billboards, gantries and forecourt screens of 6 m² and up. Out of Home is live in Nigeria. It is coming soon in Canada. See the Out of Home overview.

A flat monthly platform fee per board, set by the board's lit area. You pay 0% commission on advertisers you sell yourself, and 10% only when a VYPA advertiser books your board. The first 60 days are free, and the fee never exceeds 8% of what that board grosses. See the large-format rate card.

Usually not. A board runs on the same VYPA player family as the rest of the network and feeds your existing LED controller over HDMI. If the board is already built, it does not need rebuilding.

A record of every play, not a sample, with local timestamps. Each board also checks in continuously. If it is silent for more than 90 seconds, it counts as offline, and no campaign can be approved onto it until it answers again. Read about proof and measurement.

No. We do not sell your personal information to advertisers. The Privacy Policy explains what we collect and your rights to see or correct it. You can change your cookie choices at any time from the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.

Sign in to your portal, open Profile (Account Settings on Signage), scroll to Delete Account and confirm. If you cannot sign in, email privacy@vypa.co from the address on the account. Records of completed payments are kept for 7 years for tax purposes. Read the full deletion steps.
