Don Jazzy Reveals How He Spent His First Major Earnings from Music

Veteran Nigerian record producer and music executive, Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has revealed that he spent his first major earnings from music on lavish outings and other frivolous activities before learning the importance of investing.

Don Jazzy made the disclosure during a recent episode of the On The Grind podcast, where he reflected on his early financial decisions and how he later changed his approach to managing money.

How Don Jazzy Spent His First Big Earnings

The music executive said he spent his first major music earnings on champagne and clubbing, revealing that he once bought 50 bottles of champagne to celebrate his financial success.

However, he said he quickly adjusted his spending habits and began investing his subsequent earnings, particularly in discovering and signing new artistes.

According to Don Jazzy, his investments in record labels and other businesses have provided him with financial security, adding that he no longer needs to work to sustain himself.

Advice to Young Earners

Don Jazzy advised young people to develop the habit of investing early rather than spending excessively on luxury and entertainment.

He noted that investing does not necessarily mean establishing a record label, encouraging young earners to channel their money into profitable businesses that can provide long-term financial benefits.

His message centred on making thoughtful financial decisions during one's productive years and building investments that can create financial independence in the future.
