Ukraine has reported disruptions linked to speed restrictions affecting some Starlink satellite internet connections, raising concerns about their impact on military operations amid continuing tensions involving the United States and technology entrepreneur Elon Musk.
Ukrainian adviser Serhiy Beskrestnov said reported restrictions affecting devices moving at speeds above 160 kilometres per hour had disrupted some military missions. However, the precise cause of the restrictions remains unclear, and there is no confirmed evidence that the White House ordered the measure.
The development comes as Ukraine continues to face Russian attacks despite a ceasefire announcement concerning energy infrastructure by US President Donald Trump. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for further sanctions against Russia and additional Patriot air defence missiles.
