Indian actor Tiger Shroff has escaped unhurt after gunmen opened fire in Mumbai, with police confirming that three suspects have been detained in connection with the incident.
The shooting occurred on Sunday evening as the 36-year-old actor was leaving a private event in Juhu, an upscale neighbourhood in Mumbai, according to police official Mohit Garg.
Garg said Shroff was safe and that police had deployed several teams to investigate the incident. Two people, including the actor’s driver, were reportedly injured in the shooting.
Three Suspects Detained
Police later detained three suspects in Rajasthan as investigations continued. Police official Tejaswani Gautam said preliminary questioning indicated that two of the suspects had previous cases against them.
One reportedly had a case related to theft, while the other had a case under India’s Arms Act. Authorities have not yet established the motive behind the shooting.
Actor Known for Action Films
Shroff is known for starring in action movies, including the Baaghi franchise and War. Mumbai, India’s financial capital, is also a major hub of Bollywood, the country’s Hindi-language film industry.
Police investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting and the possible involvement of the detained suspects.
