Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has expressed interest in returning to Old Trafford, saying he would welcome another opportunity to lead the Premier League club.
The former Norway striker, who managed United permanently between March 2019 and November 2021, said he believes he still has unfinished business with the club.
“Of course it would have been nice to have the opportunity again,” Solskjaer said.
Solskjaer Backs Carrick Despite Poor Run
Solskjaer's comments come amid growing pressure on current head coach Michael Carrick, whose team has reportedly gone nine consecutive fixtures without a win.
Despite the difficult run, Solskjaer has backed Carrick to improve the team's fortunes, describing him as the right person to take Manchester United forward.
“Michael has what it takes to take that club forward. I think he’s the right man. He understands the club, understands the fans and knows what’s needed,” he said.
Solskjaer's remarks have renewed attention on his relationship with Manchester United, although he has not been offered a managerial role by the club.
