Jide Kosoko Opens Up on 30-Year Battle With Diabetes

Veteran Nigerian actor Jide Kosoko has opened up about his 30-year experience living with diabetes, saying he remains intentional about managing his health because he wants to stay alive.

Kosoko made the disclosure during an interview on the Africa A-List podcast, where he addressed criticism over his attendance at social events while one of his colleagues was reportedly ill.

Actor Explains His Approach to Health

The actor questioned why his social engagements should attract criticism, explaining that he also lives with a health condition that requires ongoing attention.

“I’ve been diabetic since 1996 till date, and I’ve continued to maintain myself because I don’t want to die at all,” he said.

Kosoko also spoke about undergoing a colonoscopy, a medical procedure used to examine the inside of the large intestine. He said he was informed that the test would help check for possible signs of cancer and recalled experiencing a frightening moment during the procedure.

Kosoko Advises Colleagues to Prioritise Health

The veteran actor urged fellow entertainers to take their health seriously and undergo regular medical check-ups.

His comments highlight the importance of consistent health monitoring and following medical advice when managing long-term conditions.
