JAMB Expands to Ottawa by 2027

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced plans to establish a Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) centre in Ottawa, Canada, set to commence operations in 2027.

The board disclosed this following a strategic visit by its leadership to the Nigerian High Commission in Ottawa. The proposed centre aims to provide eligible Nigerians across Canada and North America with easier access to the UTME, allowing diaspora students to pursue tertiary education in Nigeria without the financial and logistical burden of travelling home solely for the examination.

According to JAMB, this initiative is a critical step toward reducing barriers for Nigerians abroad, strengthening their connection to the local education system, and taking Nigerian tertiary education to a global stage.
