Nigeria's Flamingos will face Brazil in the semi-finals of the ongoing FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup after securing a place in the last four with a 1-0 victory over Venezuela.
The Nigerian side booked their spot on Sunday in Sale, Morocco, thanks to a late penalty converted by Azeezat Oduntan.
The victory means the team, led by head coach Akeem Busari, is now one step away from reaching the final of the competition.
Flamingos Target Second Final Appearance
Nigeria will be making their second-ever appearance in the semi-finals of the U-17 Women's World Cup.
The Flamingos previously reached this stage in 2022, when they went on to claim the bronze medal.
Brazil, their next opponents, secured their semi-final place after coming from behind to defeat China 2-1.
North Korea to Face Japan
The other semi-final will feature North Korea against Japan, setting up an all-Asian contest for the remaining place in the final.
With a place in the championship match at stake, the Flamingos will now look to overcome Brazil and move closer to winning the tournament.
