Dino Melaye Challenges Tinubu to Quranic Citation Competition

Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, has challenged President Bola Tinubu to a Quranic citation competition following the President's recent visit to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah, the lesser Hajj.

Melaye issued the challenge in a post on his X account on Monday, saying he was prepared to test his knowledge of the Quran against Tinubu when the President returns from Saudi Arabia.

“Now that Alhaji Bola Tinubu is in Umrah. Immediately he comes back, I challenge him to a Quranic citation competition with me. No one can mock God. SDM,” Melaye wrote.

Challenge Follows Tinubu's Umrah Visit

The challenge followed comments by the President's Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, who shared details of Tinubu's religious activities in Saudi Arabia, including his visit to the Holy Ka'abah in Makkah.

Tinubu travelled to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah and was granted access to the sacred site to offer prayers.

In a statement on Monday, the President said his prayers focused on seeking wisdom and resilience to continue serving Nigerians.

He added that he believed his prayers had been answered.
