Broda Shaggi Opens Up on Stray Bullet Injury, Four-Month Recovery

Nollywood comedian and actor Samuel Perry, popularly known as Broda Shaggi, has recounted how a stray bullet injury forced him away from work for months, leaving him worried about his career and whether fans would remember him. In a YouTube video released on Wednesday night, Shaggi said the incident occurred while he was filming a comedy skit under the Sango-Ota bridge in Ogun State during a brand activation assignment in March 2026.

Fear and Uncertainty During Recovery

The comedian recalled being overwhelmed by fear as he saw blood and waited for medical attention. He said he lost consciousness before reaching the hospital, where he received first aid. The injury also raised concerns about his ability to continue performing, particularly because dancing and other physical activities are central to his entertainment career. Shaggi explained that his demanding work schedule had kept him constantly busy since 2018. Being away from the spotlight for an extended period made him fear that audiences might forget him. He said he tried to remain productive during his hospitalisation by writing and starting a YouTube series, although watching colleagues continue their work sometimes left him emotional.

Treatment in Dubai Improves His Mobility

According to Shaggi, he initially underwent surgery in Nigeria but was advised to undergo further treatment and physiotherapy. After about four months, he travelled to Dubai for additional treatment. He said his mobility improved following surgery in Dubai, allowing him to stand with support on the second day and walk with crutches on the third day. Although he can now stand without crutches, he said he still uses them for support as his recovery continues. Reflecting on the incident, the comedian expressed gratitude that the bullet did not hit a vital organ, describing his survival as a second chance.

Comedian Promises New Projects

Shaggi thanked his fans for their support and encouraged them to look forward to his return to the screen, revealing that he has several exciting projects planned. The Ogun State Police Command had earlier urged the public to avoid spreading unverified information about the incident while investigations continued.
