AAC Seeks Presidential Villa for Campaign Council Inauguration, Requests Logistics Support

The African Action Congress (AAC) has asked President Bola Tinubu to approve the use of the Presidential Villa in Abuja for the inauguration of its Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The party also requested food, drinks and other logistical support for participants at the proposed event scheduled for November 11, 2026.

The requests were contained in a letter dated October 21, 2026, addressed to the President and signed by the party's National Secretary, Oshiokhai Ikpeminioghena.

AAC Cites Political Inclusiveness

In the letter, titled “Request for Approval to Hold the Inauguration of the AAC Presidential Campaign Council at the Presidential Villa and for Logistical Support,” the party said the event formed part of its preparations for the 2027 elections.

The AAC said its request was based on multiparty democracy, political inclusiveness and equal treatment of political parties. It also referred to arrangements reportedly extended to the All Progressives Congress for a similar political engagement.

The party argued that granting its request would demonstrate the Presidency's commitment to fairness and equal access to public institutions, regardless of political affiliation.

Party Awaits Presidential Response

The AAC said it was awaiting a favourable response from the President and requested details of the procedures and conditions governing approval for the proposed venue and logistical assistance.

The request comes as political parties begin preparations for the 2027 general elections. The Presidency's response to the AAC's proposal was not included in the report.
