Courtois to Miss Real Madrid’s El Clásico Clash Against Barcelona

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois will miss Sunday's LaLiga clash against Barcelona after withdrawing from the squad due to illness.

The Spanish club confirmed the Belgian goalkeeper's late absence in a statement ahead of the highly anticipated El Clásico fixture, citing a bout of flu.

Lunin Set for Goalkeeping Role

Courtois' absence means Andriy Lunin is expected to start in goal for Real Madrid, while Illia Voloshyn has been called up to replace the Belgian in the squad.

The late change presents an added challenge for Real Madrid as they prepare for one of the biggest fixtures of the Spanish football season.

Real Madrid Trail Barcelona

Real Madrid head into the encounter at Camp Nou trailing Barcelona by six points in the LaLiga standings, increasing the importance of the match in the title race.

Courtois' unavailability is a significant setback for the visitors as they seek a result against their fierce rivals.
