Download VYPA Player
First, download the VYPA Player application on your display device by visiting packages.vypa.co and selecting your preferred package and orientation. We support multiple platforms to ensure compatibility with your existing hardware.
- Windows: Download for Windows 10 or later
- Android: Available on Google Play Store
- Raspberry Pi: Specialized image for Raspberry Pi 4 and 5
Choose the version that matches your operating system. For best performance, we recommend using dedicated hardware like Raspberry Pi or a mini PC.
Check System Requirements
Before installation, ensure your device meets the minimum system requirements for optimal performance:
Minimum Requirements:
- Processor: Dual-core 1.5 GHz or better
- RAM: 2GB minimum (4GB recommended)
- Storage: 500MB free space
- Display: HDMI output or compatible display connection
- Network: Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection (Ethernet recommended)
- Resolution: Supports 720p to 4K displays

Installation Process
Once you've downloaded the VYPA Player, follow these steps to install it on your device:
For Windows/macOS:
- Locate the downloaded installer file in your Downloads folder
- Double-click the installer to launch the setup wizard
- Follow the on-screen instructions
- Choose your installation directory (default is recommended)
- Wait for the installation to complete
- Launch VYPA Player
For Raspberry Pi:
- Download the VYPA Player OS image
- Use Raspberry Pi Imager or Etcher to flash the image to your SD card
- Insert the SD card into your Raspberry Pi
- Connect your display, keyboard, and network cable
- Power on the device
Make sure your device is connected to the internet before proceeding. VYPA Player requires an active internet connection for initial setup and content delivery.
Register Your Player
After installation, you'll need to register your player with your VYPA account to start displaying content.

Launch the VYPA Player application
The app will display a unique pairing code on screen -
Log in to your VYPA dashboard
Visit app.vypa.co and sign in to your account -
Navigate to Screens section
Click on "Add New Screen" in your dashboard -
Name your Screen
Give your Screen a memorable name (e.g., "Store Front Display", "Lobby Screen") and choose it's type -
Enter the pairing code
Type the code shown on your display into the dashboard -
Confirm registration
Your player will automatically connect and appear in your dashboard

The pairing code expires after 5 minutes. If it expires, simply restart the VYPA Player app to generate a new code.
Connect to Your Network
Ensuring a stable network connection is crucial for reliable content delivery. VYPA Player supports both wired and wireless connections.
Ethernet Connection (Recommended):
- Connect an Ethernet cable from your router to the player device
- The connection will be established automatically
- Check the network status indicator in the VYPA Player interface
Wi-Fi Connection:
- Ensure your device has network connection
- Navigate to your Device's Network Settings
- Select your Wi-Fi network from the list
- Enter your Wi-Fi password
- Confirm connection
For smooth HD content playback, we recommend a minimum bandwidth of 5 Mbps. For 4K content, ensure you have at least 25 Mbps available.
Firewall & Port Configuration:
If you're behind a corporate firewall, ensure these ports are open:
WebSocket: Port 8080 (Required)
RTMP Streaming: Port 1935 (Optional for live streams)
Final Configuration
Complete the setup by configuring your display preferences and content assignments.
Display Settings:
- Resolution: Set to match your display (auto-detected by default)
- Orientation: Choose landscape or portrait mode
- Timezone: Select your local timezone for accurate scheduling
- Screen Saver: Configure idle behavior (optional)
Content Assignment:
From your VYPA dashboard:
- Select your newly registered player
- Assign a playlist or campaign to the player
- Set a content schedule (or use 24/7 playback)
- Save your changes
Your content will begin displaying automatically within 30 seconds. You can now manage all content remotely from your VYPA dashboard.
Your VYPA Player is now fully configured and ready to display content. You can add multiple players to your account and manage them all from one centralized dashboard.

Player won't register
- Verify internet connection is active

Content not displaying
